I am not sure if you drink sake and even if you don’t, you may still be able to help me. Some of your friends may love sake and also may resonate well with our cause. If you could help me, since the event is only 2 weeks away, please share this information with your friends right away. As you know, many people in town do the Wine Tasting event, however no one has ever done a large Sake Tasting Event to help others, so we have decided to do this event.

1. Why

* When the disaster struck Japan back in spring, we immediately organized the fundraiser to help our fellow countrymen and donated over $55,000 to Japan Red Cross. We have also done another one to raise funding for the 4 legged friends displaced from the disaster.

* I and Toshi were both back in Japan at the end of April to see our family. At that time, we realized that Japanese people would not go out to wine and dine while others in Northern Japan were going through the hardest time imaginable. So even in southern part of Japan, restaurants were all empty. As the result of these things, they have contributed to the slow recovery of the Japanese economy. Needless to say, the sake consumption has also dramatically dropped. This slow recovery in Japan has not helped US economy either. Yes, the donation certainly helps in terms of temporarily relief and also gives Japanese people the hope that they would need. However, they would need more than this. So, we have been thinking about giving our helping hands to Japanese people in our own way, even a little.

2. Long Term Solution

* Because we are deeply connected with many vendors from our industry in Japan, we have decided to carry some of their sake we have never carried before. We feel this is the long term solution to help companies in Japan including sake breweries.

3. Sake Event

* Though this sake event, we will be showcasing some of the sake you have never tasted before, coupled with the complimentary sake seminar.

* We will serve 15 different sake along with the delicious food we prepare.
